hello,how are you ?

Ah, hello there.

I’m doing fine, though a bit run off my feet with orders at the moment. I hope you’re doing well, too.

Hi Mira-chan! What do you do when someone annoys you very much?

“Ha ha, well I make sure their made aware of however they are annoying me. And if they still don’t stop the action in question, precautions must then be dealt with.”

The smile the barmaid gave at such thoughts caused nearby guild members to feel a shiver up their spine.

Natsu opened one eye lazily, the rest of his body attempting to follow suit. Sun blared into the room, and the stirring of Mirajane reminded him that he didn’t live alone anymore.

It was a nice feeling.

It was just a shame the rest of him wasn’t feeling so nice.

Struggling, Natsu managed to sit up in the bed, his pink locks a complete mess from his sleep. He blinked a few more times in an effort to shake off the sleep, before looking to Mirajane.

“Morning…you’re not still mad at me, are you?”

Hearing the shuffling of blankets followed by the Dragon Slayer’s voice, Mirajane turned her head back towards Natsu. Smiling in amusement at his comment, she brushed a thumb over his cheek and a bruise that had blossomed there overnight. “No, I’m not mad.” Leaning forward to peck her lips briefly against his, she straightened up, sliding out of the bed and standing up.

“But.” And no ‘buts’ by Mirajane could bring any good news for the young man. Turning around, she planted her hands firmly on either hip, giving him a stern look. “You’re not leaving the house at all today, not after how I had to carry you back here last night. You’re going to stay in bed and heal up, and I don’t want to hear one word of complaint about it, okay?”

“We…had a score to settle…he just settled a little harder…” Natsu accented this with a coughing fit. He held a free hand out to Mirajane. “No, no Wendy…” He finally settled back onto the bed, his held meshing into the pillow as he stared at the ceiling. “Need to do this on my own.”

Natsu didn’t want a quick fix heal from the younger dragon slayer. He was nursing his pride along with all of this, and he had lost, fair and square. Trying to heal like that was the cheater’s way out in his mind.

At least he had managed to incinerate that ridiculous coat of his.

His head rotated on the pillow towards his beloved, and his eyelids drooped halfway in shame. “…Sorry…to worry you like that. I know you don’t understand…and I know you think…that I just wanted to fight…but I didn’t…I was just trying to—” Natsu began to cough again, a hand clutching his chest. It hurt to talk, but he did owe her an explanation. “—just trying to…stand up for everyone…so he’d stop talking down to everyone all the time…” His head rotated from Mirajane, back towards the ceiling as he let out a sigh.

“…Family isn’t supposed to act like he does…”

Mirajane sat on the bed besides the young Dragon Slayer, stripping and discarding his torn clothes aside followed by applying cream and bandages - more than once causing him to wince. With a sigh at his comments, she had to agree. “Laxus… Has his problems…” Mostly with his attitude.

Finishing up, she pressed her lips against his forehead and then lips, smiling softly as she squeezed his hand once with her own. “Now, rest up.” Turning lights out and cleaning up, she herself got ready, Natsu falling asleep soon before she slid into the bed with him.

She hoped he’d get well soon.

Come next morning, Mirajane awoke when the rising sun’s rays peeked through one window onto her face. Eyes cracking open, she lay there for a moment before blue eyes turned to examine Natsu besides her. Lifting one hand, she brushed hair out of his eyes with a small smile, ducking forward to brush lips against his cheeks.

She’d let him a little lie in…

Sitting up, she threaded hands through silver hair, blinking away the last remnants of sleep and covering a yawn with her mouth. Well, this place did still need a clean out…

Ow.

Natsu’s face stung as he struggled to open his eyes, only to find Mirajane was the one attempting to wake him up through force. “Guh…don’t you…think I’ve gotten enough of a beating for…” He couldn’t even finish his joke, fading out of consciousness once again before snapping back to reality. Talking hurt. Everything hurt.

He didn’t want to move, and didn’t want to think. He just wanted to sleep - for a long, long time. But he couldn’t do that here, not in the forest. They needed to go home. His legs felt like one of those gelatin treats he’d get at the guild on occasion, struggling to find solidity as he just wanted to stand. Natsu needed her help the whole way up. He was in bad shape - and he wasn’t going to be alright for awhile yet.

Her eyes questioned him the whole time. She didn’t have to ask - he knew what she wanted to know, so he managed utter one word to put her mind at rest.

“Laxus…”

“Laxus!?” She cried, causing Natsu to wince at her loud voice. Mirajane’s mind flew frantically with thoughts as to why Laxus would do this out of the blue so suddenly. He was a part of the guild again after all and had changed so why-

Wait.

Blue eyes narrowing and mind coming to a halt just as they entered the house, she dropped Natsu gently onto the bed, hands on hips as she loomed over him. “When you said you had ‘business’ to attend to, you didn’t happen to mean fighting Laxus - again - did you?”

Asking was futile obviously, she already knew the answer and she felt like slapping the Dragon Slayer again for being so reckless and worrying her like that. Biting her lower lip, she then exhaled, hands dropping to her sides. “Get some rest, I’ll go find the medical kit and patch you up. I suppose I can call Wendy around to fix you up…”

OOC

Luckily, I have them written down in case such a thing happened!

Broken Bones and Shattered Spirits

the-legendary-salamander:

His name woke him from the darkness.

The first thing he noticed after waking up was dirt. Lots of dirt. His head was pounding, it felt like he had been hit by a magical vehicle. Moving his head hurt, but he had to get his face away from the dirt. What had happened?

Laxus. The memories began to flood in, but they were fragmented, incomplete. He must have gotten hit in the head hard, that would explain it all. He could see the remnants of a tree nearby, and he vaguely remembered flying through it.

Damn it, he had lost.

He wanted to punch something, but every bone in his body was aching, and he felt himself wanting to fade back out of consciousness.

But he couldn’t. He heard his name again.

Mirajane?

Oh, she would kill him for this. He had almost wished Laxus had finished the job, rather than have her see all of this. The destruction in the area, how broken he was…

It wasn’t going to be a good time.

Natsu struggled to make himself stand, but he barely got a few inches off the ground. Broken ribs. His entire torso just ached, as did his back. He flopped back down onto the dirt, seeing no other option.

He heard his name again.

His mind was fuzzy, but he had an idea. He barely had any magic energy left, but he might have just enough for this. Angling his hand so his index finger was pointed towards the sky, he shot a fireball up as high as he could, hoping it would act as a flare for Mirajane to find him.

When she spotted the flare, she ran.

Coming across the barely conscious Natsu, blue eyes widened in horror, taking in his battered state in shock. “Natsu…” Mirajane remained frozen for merely a moment longer more before she ran the remainder of the distance, kneeling at his side and shaking him by the shoulders feverishly. “Natsu, Natsu!”

He groaned but didn’t open his eyes, making her worry spike even more.

Who had done this? What had happened? What had this ‘business’ actually been?

“I’m sorry about this…” She whispered with a grim expression, a second later her hand meets Natsu’s face in a painful slap. “Wake. Up!”

Where was he?

Mirajane who had gone about doing some further cleaning on the small house during Natsu’s absence frowned, glancing towards the door at what must have been the eighth time in the last five minutes. What was he doing?

The East forest… What business could he have there? Well, Porlyusica lived in that forest but she couldn’t see Natsu having any need to see her. When blue eyes wandered to the door once more, the barmaid decided enough was enough and stood up. Grabbing her coat, she was already out the door before putting it on, face set in stoic determination as she marched forward. The forest wasn’t far and within fifteen minutes or so the young woman was walking through the undergrowth of the area, glancing around for any sight of the pink haired Dragon Slayer.

“Natsu?” She called, head turning in all angles. When no answer came, she yelled again, louder this time, more desperate. “Natsu!” All she could focus on was Natsu, and if he was alright…
